Until The Light Takes Us goes behind the highly sensationalized media reports of "Satanists running amok in Europe" to examine the complex and largely misunderstood principles and beliefs that led to this rebellion against both Christianity and modern culture.

NEW THIS WEEK...
New Jersey’s Streetlight Manifesto has been dazzling audiences across the world with their creative brand of ska, becoming the decade’s leaders of their genre. Streetlight Manifesto has toured with Gym Class Heros, Reel Big Fish, Less Than Jake, Voodoo Glow Skulls and many more. This week they release ’99 Songs of Revolution’.
On ’Down The Way’ Angus & Julia Stone also make their debut as producers, and develop their sound without losing the spirit of their debut. There’s been a subtle shift in gear; evidence of a growing confidence. The music gravitates from sparse to rich and textured arrangements, yet never loses its etherealness and charm.
Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip play a neat blend of electronica, hip hop & rhymes, spoken word, cultural observation and storytelling. Their 2008 debut ’Angels’ became a key independent album of the year. New album ’The Logic of Chance’ balances social/political meaning with pop sensibilities. Highlights, ’Get Better’, ’Cauliflower’, ’Great Britain’ and ’Snob’ take in influences as broad reaching as Itslo Disco, soul, 8-bit chip music and old school hip hop.
Breakage release the highly anticipated sophomore LP ’Foundation’ on ’Digital Soundboy’. Features courtesy of Burial, Roots Manuva, David Rodigan, Newham Generals, Kemo, Zarif, Erin and more. Expect bass heavy quality music with a broad appeal.
Dropkick Murphy’s live on Lansdowne was recorded during a string of St. Patrick’s Day celebration shows in March 2009 and follows their similarly themed first live release, ’Live on St. Patrick’s Day’.
‘The Big To-Do’ is the tenth album by Grammy Award winners the Drive-By Truckers. Starring: Mike Cooley, Patterson Hood, Brad Morgan, Shonna Tucker, John Neff, and Jay Gonzalez.
‘under Great White Northen Lights’ is the first ever official live album from The White Stripes. A live album that perfectly compliments the main feature film in this CD & DVD set.
‘Life on Earth’ is the debut album from The Moons that harks back to a golden era in British songwriting. Fronted by Paul Weller’s keyboard player Andy Crofts and featuring Chris Ketley of the recently disbanded Rakes, the band craft soulful slices of classic English pop.
Inspired by esoteric minimalist Wim Mertens, Pantha du Prince has managed to pull out all the stops, "This Bliss" sounds like a trip to the end of the world (and the night).
’Presidence’ explores the long-format side of Excepter, focusing on continuous live performance and extended compositions. Over the course of more than two hours, ’Presidence’ spans the full spectrum of the Excepter sound, from street-level electro to cosmic synth infinity and beyond. This is the sound of the band leaving Earth behind.
Brooklyn duo Shy Child return with their new album ’Liquid Love’, an album of elegant electronic pop of the highest order.
Although The Audition grew up amongst the brat pack of Midwestern bands from the last decade, they have surpassed their contemporaries in songwriting, story-telling and mesmerizing live shows. This week they release ‘Great Danger’.
He manages to capture both the every day music fan and guitar aficionados with his expertise and down to earth wit and humour. Andy McKee’s unique skill allows him to transform the guitar from a simple stringed instrument to a dynamic calliope of sound. This week he releases ‘Joyland’.
Paul Brady’s new album ’Hooba Dooba’ is an eclectic collection of 12 songs in the distinctive Brady style with strong melodies, provocative lyrics, infectuous rhythms...all led by a voice with a warmth, emotional intensity and ’realness’ rare in today’s contemporary music.

Spillers Records (us!) is the world’s oldest record shop, established in Cardiff in 1894 by Henry Spiller. We have contined to trade in music ever since from our premises in Cardiff. We specialise in independent music of most genres in both CD and vinyl, plus we have knowledgeable staff who will be happy to help you, either in the store or here at our website at www.spillersrecords.com. We like records, tea, instores and if you bring us biscuits from Wally’s deli (in the arcade next to us) we’ll like you a lot.
