The bands individual listening habits in psychedelia, space-rock, avant-garde and ambient soundtracks collide to form a pop trip that neatly balances the innovative with the rapturously danceable to great effect. Produced by Ken and Jolyon Thomas whose credits individually and together include Sigur Ros, M83, David Bowie, Psychic TV. [LP includes CD version of the album]
Captured Tracks’ reissue series moved away from shoegaze (re)discoveries and into more rarefied territory with this retrospective of Saâda Bonaire, a German group that only released one single before EMI pulled its financial and promotional support. But what a single it was: "You Could Be More as You Are" and its B-side, "Invitation," were tantalizing calling cards for the group’s unique mix of aloof female vocals and moody disco augmented with dub, African, and Middle Eastern elements (Ralph "von" Richtoven, the DJ who conceived Saâda Bonaire, was a friend to many Turkish musicians who had immigrated to Bremen).
Longstanding U.K. dance-pop outfit Saint Etienne return with Words and Music, their first album since the muted mellowness of 2005’s Tales from Turnpike House. The record sees the group continue work with longtime producer Ian Catt as well as collaborate on tracks with new friends Richard X and Xenomania’s Tim Powell and Nick Coler. Heavy on deep club beats and glittery indie songwriting, Bob Stanley says the album is centered around the concept of "how music affects your life. How it defines the way you see the world as a child, how it can get you through bad times in unexpected ways, and how songs you’ve known all your life can suddenly develop a new attachment, and hurt every time you hear them."
2CD Deluxe Edition containing remixes by Tom Middleton, Erol Alkan, Summer Camp amongst others.
NB : The Vinyl version is now out of stock with the distributor and we will not have any more stock until the start of June when more has been manufactured.

Traditional Appalachian songs are reinterpreted with help from friends like Ben Frost and Nico Muhly. Amidon’s own performances (on guitar, banjo and fiddle, in addition to his singing) are resituated within a sprawling, orchestral context.
Samoans are a band from Cardiff, although none of the members originate from the city itself. Since forming in 2008 the band have established themselves as one of the city’s up and coming talents, creating a collection of intricate, yet melodic songs, drawing influence from bands such as Reuben, Maps & Atlases and Secondsmile.

Artist Sampha Title Too Much / Happens Label Young Turks
The demo version of ’Too Much’ previously caught the attention of Canadian rapper Drake and, following Sampha’s production and vocals on ’The Motion’, he requested it be sampled on his Billboard 100 topping third album ‘Nothing Was The Same’. As well as providing vocals and keys for the record, they performed the track together live on US TV Show ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’. Following on from his acclaimed solo EP ’Dual’, a track from which is set to appear on Solange’s forthcoming ’Saint Heron’ compilation, his collaborative work with Koreless (as Short Stories), SBKTRT, Lil Silva and Jessie Ware, and with new solo music due imminently, ‘Too Much/ Happens’ establishes Sampha as one of the most exciting, fascinating artists to follow into 2014.
First album of new material in seven years from Mazzy Star singer Hope Sandoval. Includes Let Me Get There duet with Kurt Vile. Hope has recently recorded the vocal for The Spoils with Massive Attack.
"It was a total honour to sing along to a beautifully hypnotic soul groove with heavyweights like Hope, Colm, and all the other top notch musos. To respond to Hope’s call in song of letting her get there felt right and real and gave me chills while singing, even though I knew they already got there years before I walked in the building." – Kurt Vile.

’Santana IV’ is the wildly anticipated studio album that reunites the revered early ’70s lineup of guitar icon Carlos Santana (guitar, vocals), Gregg Rolie (keyboards, lead vocals), Neal Schon (guitar, vocals), Michael Carabello (percussion) and Michael Shrieve (drums). The album signifies the first time in 45 years - since 1971’s multi-platinum classic Santana III - that the quintet has recorded together. ’Santana IV’ features 16 all-new tracks written and produced by the band that burst with the same unparalleled energy and superlative musicianship that made Santana a pioneering force in world music and a household name across the globe.
Sarabeth Tucek’s stunning second album is inspired by the death of her father; she calls it “an impressionistic rendering of a time ruled by grief”. Sarabeth has previously performed on records by Smog and The Brian Jonestown Massacre.
